Have you ever heard the parable about the woodcutter who thought he was “too busy” to stop chopping and sharpen his ax? You can probably guess how that worked out for him.
Because studies have shown people experience these three benefits with a regular meditation practice:
• Improved ability to focus and concentrate
• Reduced experiences of worry and anxiety
• Increased creative thinking
• And there are NO side effects!
Don't underestimate the power of 5 minutes.
And don't expect meditation to be comfortable right away. We are used to stimulation: conversation, reading, television, errands, work, taking care of day to day life etc. It takes effort and determination with a dose of kindness towards yourself to develop a practice.
Do let me know how this practice goes for you - whether it's the first time you sit down to be still, or the 20th.
