I've been listening to the podcast Pilgram Heart with Krishna Das. I'm getting this next bit from him. As you begin to notice your thoughts, ask yourself if you believe everything you think and feel. We usually do. And the idea that maybe our thoughts and emotions aren't always a true reflection of reality can be freeing and maybe disconcerting, at first.
I'm tired. That person is a jerk. I love this (him, her, it, chocolate). I'm so happy right now, I wish this feeling could last forever. Ugh, how do I get back to that place where I once was happy? I can't do this. I totally got this.
So, listen. Wake up. Be kind. And don't take it all too seriously.
