WEEKLY CLASSES at 365Fit (10 Hallwood Road, Delmar. 365Fit.Info)
This 4 week series will teach simple meditation techniques to practice at home. Always wanted to try meditation, but now sure how? This is a great way to begin. Have meditated before, but not regularly? This series will help you go deeper.
This vinyasa class will link movements and hold postures in a strong and dynamic way, focusing on core engagement and strength. Within the physical practice, we aim to find meditation, breath awareness and a greater sense of ease. Each class ends with a good savasana (final resting pose) and guided relaxation.
"Janine, I feel very fortunate to have practiced with you for a number of years. As your own practice has evolved over time, your instruction in class has also. It has been a delightful journey. Your instruction brings me to a calm place where I remember to breathe, to slow down, to be present.
I am grateful for the alternate postures you suggest as I learn to honor my body and treat myself with kindness. Class with you is a place where I can let my mind unravel, release my need to be perfect, slow down, breathe and set an intention that I can carry off the mat into the rest of my life.
Janine, thank you for being such a compassionate, knowledgeable, nonjudgmental and wonderful teacher who brings joy to the practice of yoga.
Whether a person is new to yoga or has practiced for many years, your adaptive instruction and respect for each person as both an individual and as part of a community makes every class a joyful experience.
A slower paced vinyasa class linking breath to movement. Offers space for rest and rejuvenation and will leave you feeling refreshed with an overall sense of well-being. Open to all, no experience necessary.
"I was encouraged by a friend to take part in Janine's gentle yoga class at 365Fit a year ago. I wasn't sure if it was what I was "looking for" but soon realized how beneficial it is. Janine is a compassionate teacher who has shown me a more peaceful way to approach life. I have learned to incorporate breathing and relaxation techniques into my daily life through her classes." ~Marilyn
This class focuses on spinal health, balance, strength and flexibility. We use a combination of chair and standing poses and end each class with breathwork and meditation. Beginner Friendly!
"Like all of Gaul, my reasons for recommending Janine’s class are divided into three parts. First, yoga is good for my creaking joints and sore muscles. Second, her voice is calm and soft as she guides us through our exercises, which quiets my mind. Third, I get to spend some really nice time with my wife who introduced me to her classes. I came, I saw, I enjoyed."
"Janine is my teacher and brings to our practice what she has learned from her teachers. I have seen her grow in that role as I have grown in my practice with her. From learning breathing techniques to my intentions on and off the mat, I am more aware and in the moment. After every class I feel appreciative to have been a part of our yoga community and the positive effect it has on larger community as well.
Janine is always opened and understanding to her students new and old. She always assists when needed or gives an alternative pose or movement if someone has an issue or is not comfortable going into a pose/position. Her instructions always come to mind: honor yourself and what your practice is today and not to judge yourself. All her yogis have an individual seriousness of purpose but there is always an ease within her class that we can even at times look at ourselves with a little humor."
"I am very grateful for Janine’s compassionate and gentle yoga practice. Over the years my body has gotten stronger and more flexible, and my mind and attitude are much more peaceful. I also appreciate the dignity of the poses without the strain that some yoga poses require. This is particularly helpful as my body ages and my joints rust, but even there I feel a reversal, so much gratitude to Janine and 365 Fit!"
